The most important cultural event in Latin America and one of the world's most important, 38th Festival Internacional Cervantino this year joins the celebrations of the Bicentennial of Independence and Centennial of the Mexican Revolution.

From October 13 to November 7 will meet in Guanajuato all disciplines of art in a plural and inclusive event that enhances the fraternal character of Mexicans. For 26 days, the streets and squares, theaters and concert halls, streets and gardens of the city cradle of Independence, will be imbued with the most diverse art forms.

Organized by Conaculta (the National Council for Culture and the Arts), the 38th Festival Internacional Cervantino is made with the support of the Government of Guanajuato, through the State Institute of Culture, the City and the University of Guanajuato.

Guanajuato scenarios and venues will shelter concert music, opera, performing arts, popular music, visual arts and film. Vallenatos, tangos and cuecas will be heard as well as corridos huapangos and traditional Mexican music.

The 38th Festival Internacional Cervantino is adorned with the participation of artistic performances from Argentina, Colombia and Chile, guests of honor next to Chihuahua, Michoacan and Queretaro, which presented over 26 days, the most notorious of his artwork at a party that will feature 3,161 artists from 31 countries.

More than 160 live music events including: old (called classical), contemporary, jazz, rock, electronic and popular music as well as theater, dance, circus, opera, cinema, street theater and children, not to mention exhibitions, academic and culinary samples, are scheduled to be offered in 49 forums of Guanajuato, as well as in other places in the state and various cities.
